How to nail roof jacks. The front end of the base goes under the shingle just above it and you drive a 3 inch nail through the hole at that end to secure it. Attach two jacks to the roof by pulling up a tab of one of the shingles sliding the top. Nail the cut off shingle into place about 6 inches from its lower edge.
